Privacy Policy
We collect only what we need to run your social media management service, and we explain here what that is and how we protect it.
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This policy explains how SocialGuyVJ (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit socialguyvj.com, contact us, subscribe to a plan or use our client dashboard.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us through forms, email or booking: name, email address, business name and your message.
- Account and onboarding details once you subscribe: your brand information, logos, images, goals, target audience, preferences and the social accounts we will manage.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive limited billing details such as your name, email, plan, payment status and the last digits of your card.
- Content you share with us in the client dashboard, such as post approvals, comments and requested changes.
- Technical and usage data, such as IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, schedule and report on your social media management service.
- To create your account, process payments and manage your subscription.
- To respond to enquiries and book consultation calls.
- To send service messages, such as post approvals, billing notices and security alerts.
- To improve our website and measure the performance of our marketing.
- To protect our website and customers from fraud, spam and abuse.
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing our business, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it (for example, for non-essential cookies).
3. Access to your social media accounts
To manage your accounts we ask for access through each platform's own permission system, such as a manager or partner role, and not by asking for your password. You can remove our access at any time from the platform's settings. We use that access only to provide the service you have purchased.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Stripe, for payment processing and subscription billing.
- Our hosting, security and content delivery providers, including Cloudflare.
- Email delivery and booking tools used to contact you and schedule calls.
- Analytics and advertising measurement tools, such as Google Analytics and Meta, where enabled and subject to your cookie choices.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or others from harm. If our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies to keep the site and your login working. With your consent where required, we also use analytics and advertising cookies to understand how visitors use our site and how our ads perform. You can change your browser settings to block or delete cookies, but parts of the site may then not work properly.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Enquiries that do not become customers are kept for a limited period, and we delete or anonymise information we no longer need.
7. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords and optional two-factor authentication for client accounts. No system is completely secure, so we also ask you to use a strong, unique password and to tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer information internationally, we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
10. Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Third-party sites
Our website and blog link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the “last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will notify you by email or on the site.
